Ah, TVR don't count becuse they are European. European automotive companies only design thier cars. They ship their designs to thier American parent companies and they build it for them. TVR don't coun't Dude. Sorry.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a <3000 lb Corvette Z06. The current unit goes 3120 lbs. curb weight (3270 for the test in Nov. 2002 R&T). They would have to get rid of over 120 lbs. on a car that they have already chopped the trunk off, replaced standard exhaust with Titanium, and thinned out the glass to get weight savings. If it will be based on the current C6 Corvette platform, I just don't see it. Unless the make the chassis out of aluminum, or replace many, many parts with CF no way they get below 3000 lbs.

The new NSX if based on the HSC prototype will be 1 1/2 ft. shorter than the current NSX (which weighed in at 3100 lbs. curb weight, & 3225 test weight) so that might help with weight reduction.

I would love a 2800 lb., 400 hp NSX. That would be a killer car.

Given the increased requirement for safety equipment today, I seriously doubt that the C6 Z06, or the NSX will be much lighter than the current cars.
