Default New Motor Trend Roadster Review

I know I am biased but how come they couldnt include the S in the article?? I mean, they match a 350Z roadster, a BoxterS, a Z4, and a TT? Why is the TT continually in these magazine reviews and the S is left out. The TT just isnt the same kind of roadster as the other 3 while the S is.
TT 0-60 - 6.5
350Z- 5.8
Z4- 5.7 - slowest I've seen for the Z4
Boxter S- 5.4
Anyways, I just like seeing my car inmagazines. Cant they boot the TT in favor of the S?? Oh yea this is the August '04 issue.
Interestingly enough, the 350Z comes in 4th place behind the TT.

The S2000 is too cheap (price-wise) to "compete" with these overpriced roadsters. If they threw the S2000 in the comparo, it would piss off the other car companies and the magazine might lose some advertising dollars.

There was a comparo with the S, 350Z, boxster, Z4, and TT awhile back, maybe 2003 model, maybe Car and Driver. Anyhow, in that issue, the S was fist followed by the 350Z.

Don't sweat it.

The S2000's MSRP is only $1250 less than the 350Z Roadster's.

Do we test if chocolate tastes like chocolate? NO. Do we test if the color blue looks blue? NO.

Its just one of those things you know, and its that the S is the #1 roadster in comparison to those... SO why state the obvious =)

This is the SAME Motor Trend that placed the S2000 3rd against the RX-8 and 350Z a few months back, and called the S noisy..."Noise intrusion from wind, road, and engine" ...ummmm did you know you are testing a drop-top?
Anyways, don't let MT bother you. Let the masses own all these other cars while the select few who know the virtues of our car own an S2k.

motor trend seems to dislike the s2k...they rarley include them in the test and when they do, they always place them last
stick to C&D...its the true enthusiast car mag
even road and track seems to like the s2k

Thanks guys. Y'all are cool and I agree that we have the best roadster. Im sure Porsche paid a pretty penny for that article.

Have you ever even driven a Boxster in anger?

Do you really think Porsche would pay any attention to Motor Trend, the most domestic-oriented of the major North American automotive magazines, let alone actually pay them money to fix a comparison test?

I love my S2000, but I think the continuing insinuations that any publication that slights the S2000 in any way is on the take are incredibly childish.

I agree, the Boxster S is the better car -- but you have to pay more.
