New Mazdaspeed Miata
The new Mazdaspeed MX-5 is getting same 2.3L turbo motor that comes in the MS3 and MS6.
MX-5 Miata: A race package arrives this fall, but racers must wait until mid-2008 for a MazdaSpeed edition. The MazdaSpeed version's 2.3-liter turbo loses some horsepower in packaging the intercooler and larger radiator. A redesign is planned for the 2010 model year when the car must comply with new 2011 rear-offset collision standards.
Quick breakdown for the Visual Learners:
S2000 -> <- Miata
S2000 -> <- Miata
S2000 -> <- Miata
'Tis a sad sad day. Honda really needs to scrap the S2k and salvage whatever dignity they can. IMO.

That would be interesting, where did you hear this news from? I suspect it will be near or sub 5 sec 0-60 if its pumping out even 250HP...if not 500 worth of bolts would def kick it over the 5 sec mark.

This is going to be a great little car. I hope they don't ruin the balance of the MX-5 with a bunch of extra weight over the front, though.

After some googleling I found something:
http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...=73291025791639
This doesn't seem like a very valid source just speculations. especially since it was updated almost a year ago: "This article was last updated on: 08/20/07"
Actually I rode in a base '06 miata and honestly I wasn't very impressed by the interior. I still like mine better
