New M3 Info

I don't think anyone has mentioned the RS4 yet...starting at a $66k. With Audi's premium package it comes out to $71.4. That is the vehicle for realistic comparison...a 420hp German luxury sedan. I think the $53k base price is fairly attractive and competitive in relation to comparable alternatives.

I've never heard anyone say that a Porsche didn't know what it was.

Again, I do think the cayman is a nice car, but IMHO, a bit overpriced for what it is.

If you could afford 65k....you could most likely afford 75k and get a base 911 Carrera. The new M3 is gonna stomp a mudhole in the back of Cayman S sales.
I might seem strange to you, but there are quite a few people who are doing the same thing
The only reason one would compare the coming M3 to a Cayman is solely on price - they are two totally different machines with two totally different purposes. It is like comparing a S2000 to an Evo or a STI.

I can afford a basic 911, but I opted for a $66K Cayman S instead. I like the handling of the Cayman better. On top of that I am getting rid of my M3 to get it. I'm also passing on the new M3 for the Cayman S.

Seems like people get worked up over LSD. The Elise doesn't have a standard LSD. Maybe it should be an option or maybe they should include it for PR, but I bet it works fine without one.
IMO the Cayman or CS is not a track special. It can be driven at the track but more likely it's bought for looks, image, driving fun, comfort (over a S2000 or Elise) etc...
if people want a track special the Exigy would be better than a CS (IMO).
