^ ya, i said hypothetical...
we could probably take the example cited above, as the new M3 (cheaper, heavier) may very well outperform a cayman (lighter, more costly).

Hmmm...seems to me, the 335 is a better buy. For that 10K difference, you can get some nice wheels, nice xenons, GREAT suspension, chip/exhaust etc to make the power of the 335 exceed the m3...etc. The 335 already has 300ft/lbs of tq, with chip, it can easily have 350+....
I think BMW is making a mistake by giving the 335 a turbo motor, and the m3 gets NA..... IMHO, the 335 will be able to outperform the m3, for LESS than that 10K.

a M3 V8 prototype passed me on the 14N last saturday(i was heading to willow springs early in the morning)
it was a black 2 door with quad wxhaust, had a wrinkled sheet metal "riveted on" hood bulge painted flat black, black grill, but no other camoflouge.
it was behind an old black NSX, but i don't think they were together

The Cayman S now looks overpriced. Oh yeah, we already knew that.

Will there be a gas guzzler tax? My friends M6 averages 15mpg city/hwy.He paid a huge gas guzzler tax( not that it mattered to him) msrp with guzzler tax etc was 105k, definitely something to consider.

I think it is silly because I get the same gas mileage in my M3 that I got in the S2000......roughly 20 mpg.
