The thing that is even funnier than that is the HHR is nearly as fast around the ring as an S2000 only 4 seconds seperate them and the HHR is a ****ing wagon. Honda really needs to get to work.
Perhaps. But the saying about "you can't outrun ugly" , well, it sounds like the Honda outran it by four seconds.

^If you are comparing the S2000 time from Sport-Auto (8:39)vs the GM time for the HHR just remember Sport-Auto was some 7 secs slower then GM with the Z06. To be fair you should compare the Sport-Auto time to the Sport-Auto time. But, at this point Sport-Auto doesn't have a time for the HHR. I would guess the S2000 is some 10 secs faster then the HHR, but this thing is 400+lbs heavier and FWD....so...that's to be expected. The best part of the article is that part where it says every SS car from GM now will go fast, stop fast and turn fast.

Does the EPA classify the HHR as a light truck or was that just the PT Cruiser? That could explain 10 seconds.

^ This is the car it beat

So I would guess its not a truck. And it's faster then the fastest time recorded for the cooper S works even if mini didn't run that time so it's fast even if it is a truck!

Sounds like GM could have built a legitimate Mazdaspeed 3 competitor. Too bad it looks so damn rediculous.

It is unattractive. Hopefully, they will use what they learned in another car that doesn't look like that.

the same powertrain(with a possible boost) is going in the 08 cobalt SS's. rumor is that the new cobalt is aimed to KILL the MS3 with.......270+hp on tap from a new ecotec 2.0, with forged internals and a new IM, turbo.

id take an ecotec motor over the MZR motors on the MS series of cars.

Well if that's true then the cobalt SS will be have more performance then any other fwd sports coupe on the market.

Maybe I'm a nerd, but, for me, if it aint a sports car, I want 5 doors (4 at a minimum). No 5-door Cobalt.
