This is the New GT-R

[QUOTE=TwiBlueG35,Oct 5 2005, 04:43 PM]I personally like many Japanese cars stylings, but not so much for European. Many Alfa, Fiat, Peougeot, Volkswagen, Lamborghini, Volvo, Saab, Renault, Lotus vehicles look pretty ugly to me. In my opinion only BMW and Ferrari really suits my taste. I think Japanese cars don't have a consistent family look, but doesn't mean they don't look good. Especially many late japanese models, look very very good. Some very good looking ones I could think of are G35 coupe, S2000, FD RX-7, R33 Skyline GTR, Lancer Evoluton VII/VIII/IX,

I'm fairly certain the R35 will be a backwards step from the R34. The R34 looked good being bold and subtle, where these drawings are outlandish and obnoxious.
Yuck.

to the post above, i think the R34 is pretty busy compared to its previous generations (R33, R32) which is why the R33 is my favorite skyline. the headlights, tail lights, and spoiler of the R34 are pretty "in-your-face". and the GTR wont look like that drawing, i have no proof of that opinion, but it just wont. more likely to be a G35 imitation.

It will look close...just not as "flat" (greenhouse). I had a feeling they'd keep the look similar to the first GT-R concept of '01. Especially since thats the only official product from Nissan.
I've never seen a company go "totally, totally different" from their initial concept. Take the S2000 for example. How many years had passed since the concept first appeared, and the prototype showed up?

I'm going to say it again, Japanese cars are not that great looking. I think the Toyota 2000 GT is the peak of Japanese design. Since then they have either kept conservative and copied, or tried something new and went way over-board with goofy wings, body panels, and fixtures, damn just look at they way they dress when not in business clothes.

I could name many Japanese cars that have beautiful designs, NSX being one of them. On the contrary, I don't find most BMW's and MB's and domestics to be very beautiful looking. Even the E46 M3, it doesn't look sporty enough. It looks just like an ordinary sedan but with a little flare to it. It's even more true for the E36 M3, which looks like a Corolla sedan. It was also made from the mid '90s.
You have your opinion and I have mine. But if you don't think the RX7 and NSX have beautiful designs, especially for their times, you're blind as a bat.

I dont want to steal the thread or give in to my fanboi Z06 loving nature but I have too.
The Z06 will destroy that thing for prive/perfromance dollar!!! It will be a sick car nonetheless but it wont be as good for the Z06. Yeah blah blah its not out yet, but I am willing to put my money on the Z06!

Instead of comparing it to the Z06, a better comparison would be against the new E90 M3 and Cayman S.

For some, straightline performance is not everything.
