Used G37 is probably what I would go for at the moment...but I change my tune daily...

i have gone through a few cars since I have had my turbo s. I had bought a auto wrx for my wife and then sold that and bought a e90 330i. I have to say I didn;t like the wrx all that much. It just felt too small and just boring to drive compared to my s. The bmw definetly drives better and has a more a more luxury feel and is peppy. My wife likes it and so do I. However for a cruising car I am going to recommend something totally different. I just bought a 00 F250 CrewCab with the 7.3 diesel. This is my first truck that I have bought besides the work truck I drove around for a few months which was a 99 Ram Cummins. I must say I really like the Ford. Its not that fast yet but the room and ride feels great and this is coming from someone who usually likes small cars lol. Just tossing that out there The truck is almost 10 years old and still feels like new as well.

I don't know what you want to hear regarding the STi. It's hands down the best car I've owned. The equal torque to HP always has me grinning. If I had to choose between the S and the STi for one car, the STi would win. Cheap to mod too.

sti is great fun in the snow, and from what i have seen and read quite reliable as long as you don't give them too much boost.

i would say that if you are looking to spend up to 25k, go for a new wrx. or if you are looking for a little more bargan the legacy gt has tons of room and moves pretty well.

if you are looking less practicay and just want tourque, the 03 cobra mustang has ~400 hp and indipendant rear. or a used c6 vette can be had in the 20k range. or a c6 z06. all of those don't need to be reved to be enjoyed. and all have the choice of coupe or vert.

I wouldn't take the STI as a cruiser....the last generation was not what I would call a "comfortable" car to cruise around in. G35 comes to mind in your case.

i'm looking used less than 20K as a practical car with balls, i love driving and the thought of awd appeals to me quite a bit so i think EVO/ STI would be a good choice. I don't know how reliable 04-05 STi are but i always loved them, and EVO VIIIandIX are beautiful as well. I know its gonna be hard to find one that doesn't have any mods.

Two words..... Mercury Marauder.
I'm with Tom on this one

or

94 Impala SS

Got Plenty of balls, powerful. Under 20K, Fun. May not be nimble but definitely fun.

If the budget is under 20k I'd get a GTO over either of those cars.

I always forget about the GTO! If you're OK with domestic, it's an awesome ride for the price: awesome LSX motor, solid interior, lots of modification potential, available in a 6M, and a +steal+ price wise.

The G8 is along the same lines (LSX power, good interiors, etc.) and I think they both have roots in Holden vehicles from AUS.

If you're into some modifications, these cars are just a H/C, headers and tuning away from 475+. A buddy of mine bought a G8 V8 (not the GXP) for a DD, 6-speed auto (I'm 99% sure...) new for like $23K-24K.

if i was looking for something like that i would just get a C5/ C5 ZO6 vette lol. I need something that can handle rain and a little snow, so rear wheel drive is gonna workout. I was thinking maybe AUDI A3, but having a shitty VW audi's scare me, pricey upkeep when things go wrong.

I'm really starting to feel that the STi and EVO choices are best for me. I like 04-and up wrx/sti except new body style (monstrosity)
