So I drove up to the QT down the street tonight and see this beautiful NSX sitting in the parking lot. It belonged to the clerk at the counter, this awesome older gentleman named Cory. We started talking and he tracks his 160k NSX and daily drives it. That was cool, but then we started talking about his garage kept car.
He has a 1992 NSX. It's red with the smoke glass top. The original owner, in 1992, sent the wheels out to be chromed in Cali. The car has 20k miles and has never seen rain! He even ordered the last set of OEM Yokohamas made in the US to keep on that car. Just amazing. It was awesome to meet this guy and I just wanted to share.

Good stuff. The NSX is a very special car to real car enthusiasts.

ha, when i met him it was about 11:30 at night. i'll try to get pics of the DD tonight, but it might take some extra work to get pics of the 92.

and yes, the factory wheels were chromed. quite a few older generation sports cars had chromed wheels; mk4 supras, 3000gt vr4, nsx

Also why did he need to send it to Cali to get it chromed out?

I should look for openings at QT now ..

Ok..."QT" might be obvious to certain geographies of the US, but I am drawing a complete blank on what that refers to. Perhaps they do not have these in the Bay Area, or perhaps it has been a longer week than I realize. Help??

QT = QuikTrip, a gas and convenience chain also seen here in AZ. I think they're based in Iowa.

And the clerk didn't get the wheels chromed, the previous owner did.
