How Reliable are 09 TSX's? JD Power rates it pretty low. Hear it has a ton of quality issues. Any input guys?

My buddy owns an 08 tsx with a 6-spd. It has over 100k and still running strong. No mods done to it. Just regular maintenance. Thats why I'm considering getting one.

Gen 1 is different tho. From what I've been hearing the Gen 2 early models (09/10) aren't great in terms of reliability.

Brother and best friend both had them. Bulletproof cars, mechanically speaking.

One had his A/C compressor go out at 150K miles, which is a fairly common issue, but both cars were very reliable over a combined mileage of 300K miles. Interiors held up great.

thanks. Looking into getting a cheap reliable DD that still has some sort of luxury to it.

Sounds like you want a subaru. What's even better is the Saabaru. Pre 06. Cheaper than WRX in insurance. Can either get the 4 speed auto or 5 speed manual. Both engine and drivetrain are out of a WRX. They look better too IMO.

I'm sure a cobbsport flash will awake her up to your requests.

Time hasn't been good to those cars in general. I live the North American Capital to both marques; and the Saabaru just does not look like it's holding up well at all. I see a few everyday. The SAAB SUV has aged more gracefully for sure. 9-3 Convertible is a great ride for a "regular car". If AWD is a must the Turbo X is pretty ballsy (not sure if that came in Convertible).
