New car in my garage...

Good choice! I'm in somewhat the same dilemma as you as I'm looking for a nicer car BUT the out-of-warranty costs or problems scare the tar out of me. I'd expect the Lexus to last quite a while.

As far as warranty, etc. I actually still have some factory warranty left, but I did add on coverage to 100k miles and for 5 more years just because the extra $40/month was worth the peace of mind (even covers the DCT, which is what I was most worried about wearing down or having issues, just based on what I've read about M3/Evo MR and their similar transmissions).
I keep hitting the brake with my left foot when I first get in the car by habit hah. This is the first time I have not had a traditional stick shift since 2001, I'll have to see if I change my mind on it after a year or two and go back, or if I become a convert to just having the flappy paddles.

The ISF has a torque converter automatic transmission. The M3 and Evo MR have dual clutch tranmissions.
it has a torque converter but it is only active in 1st gear to enable smooth transitions from a stop. After that, it is completely locked, allowing extemely fast and tight shifts with none of the downside associated with slushboxes.
