New BMW 'M' roadster coming in late 2005?

I think a car like that will be cool. The older ones were great looking, IMO, and they were deceptively fast. Make it with whatever engine, it'll be sweet. I'm also pretty approving of the Z4's styling.

I know someone pretty high up in BMW of North America, he said it was not coming at all. When you load up a Z4 3.0 it comes to close to 50k so it really left no room for an M version or at least that is how it was explained to me...
My girlfriend works for a production company that does video shoots for BMW soo...two December's ago (2003) I got to go on one of them as a driver cause they were short, this is where I had all my questions answered. I even got to drive one of two hand built 645's (actually I believe at the time there was only the one I got to drive, the other had been wrecked) and a 760

Yet now Roundel confirms it, & I havn't seen Roundel to often be that horribly wrong when stating a fact.
Additionally go through the bmw exec interviews, I think that last one with panke, he stated that 'if' there was an M version of the Z4 it would be called the M Roadster- why state that if it isn't a possibility/coming...

So is it going to get an I6 or V10?
#1 I doubt a v10 would fit

Its disheartening that the 6 series debuted and almost instantaneously got an M variant, yet the Z4 has been out almost 2 years, yet nothing! I think that alot of Tuners got the idea, hence the Hamann Z4, and even the EvoSport Z4 (the owner hammered out all the creases and flared the fenders!)

Got the info from AcuraZine:

For 2 years now, a new BMW 'M' roadster has been rumored and been seen tested in Europe. But according to Motortrend, the new 'M' Roadster will be produced and available in late 2005 as a MY06 model at the same time the Z4 gets a refresh. It will use the same 3.2L I6 engine that the current M3 uses.

I'm not sure whats up with the 2 different rims on front / back, maybe its just because its a prototype. Still looks nasty to me, but it should be fast with the M3 engine in it!
