I would agree that it's the best Bangle Bimmer yet, but I still think the design is fussy in many respects. Also, there is just no way to make that cut-line for the trunk look good. It was a bad idea on the 7, 5, and 6, and it is still a bad idea on the 4. It just doesn't flow, and it makes the trunk look tacked-on. I also hope they improve the interior design over the 7 and 5. I recently sat in an '04 7 and an '04 5 and hated the interiors. Very cold. By contrast, the interior on the new A8 was beautiful, and the Range Rover's interior was amazing too. I just don't think there is anything to get excited about with the new Bimmers. And, for their prices, you gotta be excited. They are just too cold, technical, and dorky.

That's probably one of his better designs.... and alas, this thing is probably the 3 series replacement.
But like his other designs, it looks pretty good from the 3/4's view, but from the side... ick.

Here's the deal - the 3 series, 5 series, and 7 series all have 4 doors.
From now on, their 2-door counterparts will be the 4 series, 6 series, and 8 series, respectively.
Thus, the Z3 designation was abandoned for Z4.
