yes.

Z4, 5series, and X3 get it in December. This gen of 1 series wont get it because production ends the first quarter of 2012.
This motor is standard in the new X1 M-Sport in the BMW press release. We in the states probably will not see the X1 till next year if at all.

On page two of that thread one of the bimmer boys says the f series is a terrible engine. Id love to see that new turbo 4 last for 100k and beyond with no issues..
There's no F series of engines. Are you perhaps referring to the F30 (upcoming 3 series)? What engine are you talking about exactly?

P.S. I'm pretty confident it will last a lot longer than 100k miles. HPFP =/= engine. Cooling is no longer a problem, as the two furthest cylinders which were the source of the problem don't exist if it's only got 4 cylinders.

The F20/F22 out of the s2000 is the garbage engine he was referring to.

Every time there is talk of a turbo engine making 240ish hp, some ricer starts talking about the F20c. It gets tiring.

Can BMW make high specific output engines? Yes.

The problem is, high specific output engines are inefficient and inflexible in the lower rpms.

The F20c is BARELY tolerable in a 2800lb roadster. Put it in a 3300lb sedan and people will want to kill themselves after driving the damn car.

High specific output=one trick pony. Twin Power=adaptable, flexible, efficient.

Good for 245hp. Not bad at all and seems aimed at Audi/VW 2.0T.

Can't wait to see its tuning potential.
Hyudai 2.0 owns them all.
