You're right. I'm a little disappointed too that Audi did not do more to distinguish the RS5 trim level from the lesser A5 and S5.
I saw another poster (on another site) thought that maybe the photos were not the finalized product (that's it's got RS5 running gear, fascia, but not the production fenders)?

The sweet thing (vs. the strung out M3 NA motors) is this will be some cheap bolt-ons away from another 50-75HP.

Given the small delta between the NA version of the 4.2L V8 and this TT setup, I'm assuming they dropped the C/R a bit for the FI application. I'm assuming this is DI?

Neat stuff.

Just remembered that the N54 in the 335 is not impressive stock either for being a 3.0 TT, that is until it is modded, then it becomes a monster, as it should with such specs.

I suspect that this V8 TT in the RS5 is wolf in sheep's clothing.

I guess I'm always comparing stock specs though because I'd only ever do light mods on a car...

With 400+ ft of torque and AWD, I'm sure it will scoot to 60 in faster than 4.5.

I think the N54 is pretty damn impressive. It posts almost identical performance numbers to the more powerful S5.

This RS5 will definitely do quicker than 4.5. Its only issue I see with it is weight and price. Everything else looks mighty sexy. The RS4 was damn near 70k in stock form. This thing will be 15k+ more than what you're comparing it to. I'm sure it will perform great.

why not just get a cts-v. less money, and atleast off of the numbers its faster.

that said, i have seen the s5, and is is sooooo good looking. so the rs5 will be amazing, plus with the awd, its the better car if it ever snows.

but for that kind of money the cts-s seems like a better deal. cause its going to be atleast as fast, and just as nice on the inside

One is a midsized coupe and the other is a full-sized sedan. The two doesn't really have much in common except that they'll be fast as hell....

at that price point, I would just get a slightly used GT-R or even a new one for a few grand more....

I don't think the Audi and the GT-R are meant to directly face off against each other. One has lots of style and luxury mixed w/ speed, the other is a bargain supercar.

IMO, neither engines (S5 or 335) are impressive (stock). The N54 is a motor designed 15+ years after the VG (300ZX TT), 6G72 (3000GT VR-4) and 2JZ (Supra TT) and produces about the same #s.
