The S5 is slated to have the 4.2 liter FSI at ~350-ish hp. The S4 will have the same.
The rest of the RS4 hp (420 in the US) comes from an upped redline and a few other tweaks which they'll hold back.
Hopefully they'll release the full hp in a few years to up the competition. But it won't be until the RS6 is in action.

i was going by the fact that the current S4's 4.2 liter does not have FSI...
they'll need the 420HP version to compete with the M3 and C63...
ill wager a beer... and a drive in your RS4...

^^ Audi have stated that they will only market one RS model at a time. So, as long as the RS4 is out the RS6 won't show up and vice versa. It would be nice if they had the 09 RS4 and '09 RS6 at the same time since they are in totally different price categories and markets, just like the M3 and M5.
