Where are you getting $46K? They'd have major price overlap with the RL that offers the same motor and AWD system with a nicer interior and more luxury options.
You might fully load out one with a ton of accessories to that price but I'm pretty sure the top model will be a lot closer to $40K (ie, close to the Type-S price right now, which is about $39K with summer tires and including destination). That price includes navigation standard so you can't do much more to load that car up except dealer installed factory accessories.

If you click all the boxes on the current TL you get to $45,000 from a base of $38k, I don't know why you would but you can. They are certainly going to make you pay for this undesign and the AWD option too.
Please stop spreading utter BS.

I will judge when I see the car in person.
I also thought the TSX looked odd in pictures, but
when I saw it on the road that grill didn't look bad at all.

Close down the California design studio please.
I haven't like any of the concepts except for the HSC and the only car I ever truly liked was the TL before this design seen here. Everything else was cold.
Acura and Honda of America don't deserve their own designers.
The design should go back to Japan, and then labeled Hondas or rebadged as Acuras here.
I mean I actually think some of the new Kia concepts are better looking that what Honda has shown!

You sir are full of shit! No TL costs 46k let alone 40k. A TL-S has only one option, Navigation, and the whole thing runs less than 40k.

I mixed up the RL with the TL - its hard to tell them apart anymore. Thats also why I compared it with an M, but compare the TL with a G and you have the same basic story - better looks, better performance, less money.
C'mon - the G35 sedan is a great car for a sporting enthusiast but it's still a bit rough around the edges, especially the engine and transmission. The interior still isn't as nice as the current Acura's, even though it has improved significantly compared to the last gen G35 sedan.
As far as price goes, a G35x sedan starts at $35.5K. To step up to TL-S specs and features, you have to add navigation ($2150), sport package ($1100), and premium package ($2300). That's $41065, or roughly $2K more than a comparable Acura TL-S (current model). So, Acura has only to keep the price for SH-AWD under $2K to make the prices the same. So, probably no price difference. If anything, Acura has consistently been right there with Infiniti on pricing for all the other models except a BASE G35 sedan with no options at all (Acura doesn't offer a stripper model TL).
Performance wise, the Acura will have as much power and probably more torque, so the only thing left is braking, cornering, and general handling. No one knows how well the Acura will perform so that's still up in the air.
So at this point, all you're left with is looks. You can say the Acura loses on looks if you want. Otherwise, you really don't have a foundation to dismiss it.
