I sat in one at the International Car Show in Tampa. It didn't seem too bad. It's a HUGE step up from the Sephia at least. No where near as sporty as a Civic Si though.

Kia's first RWD car is slated to hit US markets soon...
Does the rear end look familiar?
lol...c'mon. I know the new head-honcho designer used to take names/kick ass at Audi, but if he's that good, can't he come up with his own new style? Nearly everything Kia has put out/is planning to put out has been a blatant rip.

i think it looks better than civic. latest mag reviews actually prefer it over civic si. latest korean cars are looking better and better. sales are also bucking the trend meaning a lot of people like the looks and value of these cars. btw new mazda6 also has those bumper exhaust cutouts.

I personally think it looks slightly better than the Civic.

I think Kia is eating Honda's lunch - the Civic is arguably the most important car Honda makes, and the Forte is a great alternative on all counts. The Forte coupe has 30 more hp than the Civic EX for $2k less, with a ton more features and a 6-speed manual, and a much longer warranty.
I guess you can pan the car sight unseen, but if the Forte is as good as the rest of the new Korean cars, Honda needs to worry imo, especially if Kia releases a sport version of this car.

ia's attractive new Forte coupe, the Koup, represents the second stage of the South Korean automaker's evolution in the U.S. market. ... It became one of the first places to go if you needed a cheap, reliable car. Offering the kinds of kit found in significantly more expensive Japanese models sweetened the pot, but exterior and interior design was nothing to write home about.
Now you can write home about it, and in the case of the Forte, both Koup and four-door sedan, you'll undoubtedly write about the car's striking resemblance to the Honda Civic, our 2006 Car of the Year. Live with the Forte for more than a test drive, and you'll start to pick out myriad differences, like the Koup's more sculptured c-pillar and tail section and its more conventional-looking instrument panel, though it is surrounded by top-notch materials and Civic-like fit and finish.

Been covered, synopsis:
Kia sucks.
But Kia/Hyundai are doing a lot better and is gaining market share.
Kia copies everything.
As if the Japanese folk were so original.
It's ugly.
I like it.
I bet it'll break.
There's teh warranty.
It has a cheap interior.
For the cost what do you expect.
It drives like crap.
And corollas drive so well.
and on and on and on.
