If you can afford it, definitely get the newest model with the least miles.
Sure less chance of a problem caused by a P.O. but unless you are loaded and like wasting money, buying a new car is never a good idea financially. Have the used car checked out by a good mechanic including a leak down and compression test if you are worried it was abused. If you have to finance the car saving $15,000 off the cost at a 5+% APR loan is a lot of money saved! I don't regret buying used in the least and will never buy a car new.
The newest model with the least miles that I could afford was a year old with 5,000 miles (and significantly less than a comparable new model). He's not saying "buy new off the dealer lot regardless of your budget" as you've apparently decided to interpret it.

The actual difference is less.

I would warn against the demo... to an extent
I bought my mazda3 (daily driver) as a demo. Its treated me fabulously except for one minor (major) issue. The transmission went around 35k. The syncros were shot. It was replaced under warranty though, so it wasnt really a big deal.

I agree. I would just spend 10k and get an older model in general. These cars can handle the test of time. And with a 10k model, you can beat on it at the track a lot more without feeling guilty

hi there, just for your information you could get a brand new s2k in 07/08 for 42-43K in canada. The list price was 50 but there was a 7-8k cash rebate from honda due to the strong canadian dollar. Paying 43 for a demo with 10, 000 km on it is WAY too much. Are you in Edmonton? Im guessing youre talking about the sk2 at millwoods honda?

That's the one.. 40k for it, all in. What do you think?
I spoke to another member here earlier, he thinks the 06 with 50k kms (which is about 12,000k / yr) is pretty high as well.. the seller claims it's mostly highway km..... he's got an 02 and his mileage isn't even past 50k yet, and it's his daily driver.
