You ought to drive the new TL. Its an amazing car, irrespective of drivetrain configuration. And compared to the G35 sedan, its luxury, feature set, etc. are noticeably better at an equal or superior price. Most noticeable to me was the significantly smoother engine and gearbox in the TL (assuming that the 6spd G35 sedan tranny feels like the 6spd Coupe's.)
Were I required to have only one car, I'd want RWD and look elsewhere, but with an S2000 in the garage for weekends and special roads, the TL would be at the top of my list in this class. Without the LSD (ala the auto tranny car), it would be a different story though.

I can't see buying a TL over say a G35 6-speed.

I've driven it and agree with the "scary fast" comment. Not because it's a great stoplight street racer. I'm sure there are better cars for that. Its speed definitely unnerved me on the highway. It builds speed so effortlessly for a vanilla family sedan, and with so little change in cabin sound levels, that someone used to a S2000 would rack up some pretty ugly speeding tickets in the TL. (You'd wind up going 90 when you thought you were doing 70.) There's a lot more high speed feedback in the 330 in contrast... you'd know you're doing 90.
For a $30k sedan it's awfully quick.
I'd love to be in a position to buy a TL right now.

It is fast enough.
I got one to go with my S2000.
I wanted a scary fast CTS-V but backed off because I was not going to put my 16 year old behind the wheel of a 400 hp car.
My is an auto and it runs the highway plenty fast.
For sure you break loose hitting the gas hard from a dead stop but I would nt want a car that makes me forget about driving the S2000.
The XM and Bluetooth phone features are a lot of fun as well.

TL was designed here in Ohio, styled in LA. Produced only in Marysville, OH.
Same goes for the MDX and Pilot, except they are built in Canada.
