You're mistaken there - every Acura is built in Japan, while Civics and stuff get built in Ohio (I believe). It may be marketed exclusively to North America as an Acura, but that doesn't make it any less Japanese.

if you look at the VIN on the TL, it doesnt start with J, thus its not built in japan
MDX isnt built in japan, TL isnt built in japan, previous gen TL wasnt built in japan, the CL wasnt built in japan. check out www.honda.co.jp and look for a TL of any sort on that website. its not there because its not slated for release in japan yet... IF it is slated for release in japan at all.
also the majority of accords are built in the states, as well as the element, pilot, majority of civics (civic si in england), etc...
the only hondas built in japan are the s2000, rsx (integra), tsx (accord), rl(legend) im not sure about the rl tho... i think im missing a few here however...
*edit* just researched and the RL is built in japan.

Actually, some of the Honda Accord distributed in the US still come from Japan (VIN# starts with J). However, these are only the 4 Cyl models. Not sure which grade; EX, LX, etc.

On another note, we were anticipating the release of the 04 TL. When it finally arrived at the dealers, we checked it out and really did not like it. The back end is too boxy and the interior seemed REALLY cheap. To me the 04 TL looks a lot better from a distance than up close. By no stretch is the TL a sports car.
Long story short, we bought an 04, V6 Accord and saved $9k and we are very glad we made this decision. Accords hold their value much better than Acura (I know) and the 240 hp Accord EX we bought for $23,800 is a lot of car for the bucks.

God help you if you ever get a ride in or drive a real fast car. 14.2 is reasonably quick and is faster than the majority of cars on the road, but in no way "fast."
