I hear this lame insult trotted out again and again, but it has no basis in fact. Take a look at the prices of early 996s and early Boxster Ss -- they're pretty much the same since the 996 has been around for a few years longer than the Boxster S. Plenty of people buy used Boxsters despite this -- I bought my Boxster S because it was better suited for my application (autocross) than the 996. Where does that leave your inane theory?

Do you also believe that the only reason people buy S2000s is that they can't afford NSXs?

Now I know what the S2000 will be traded for... in a year or two. I dig it.

I disagree. Sure it's nice that it's a little cheaper, but to say people only buy it because it's a cheap Porsche is false. It's the only Porsche weighing less than 3000 lbs.

There was a Porsche Magazine that had the top 10 P-cars to drive. The Boxster S was around 4-5 on the list. Also a very loaded Boxster S can cost near as much as a 911. And RUF has modified a Boxster with a 3.6L engine. it's cost would make you blush. The Boxster S is a great car damn near in performance to a 911.

A friend of mine speaks German, I'll ask him to take a look in the morning.
