Need an SUV

I never said they did, but my point was the these folks were driving in the city traffic before their trip (so it's included in their average), and were ordinary folks, not professional hypermilers (like me )... and still got 25% better MPG.
What I do to check my highway MPG is hit the reset button when I'm in a comfortable cruising speed, make sure the road is flat (otherwise, reset it again) and wait 10 minutes minimum, and then check back with the MPG meter and compare to manual calc's if I'm REALLY curious). This is def not the most accurate when considering real world MPG/averages, but helpful if you want to see how well your car can do on a longer drive where there isn't any/much city driving involved.

Using the trip computer on the truck, I've been averaging over 20 mpg. That's with a bit of brake boosting hard acceleration, morning rush hour and 60% highway driving at 70-75. I'm loving it so far and I'm curious to take it on a road trip to see how it performs overall.

Yes sir! Picked up a 06 xc90 I-5 turbo with 26k miles and a 4year/50k mile warranty.
Why this? Because it's fully loaded, transmission is seamless (Aisin sourced), engine is powerful enough and torque peaks very low (1500 rpm). The interior is years ahead of the Explorer or Flex in terms of feel, fit and finish and overall thought of the design. The seats are VERY soft, much softer than BMW or Mercedes (it's also the only one out of the ML and X5 with 3rd row seats)..
Dislikes:
Navigation system isn't too good. The controls are on the other side of the wheel and the screen is tilted down making it seem awkward. The 3rd row seat leg room is very small but they fold away nicely. Oh and the seat folding mechanism is over complicated.
Other than that we're very happy with our buy
