Get a Civic, just because you know how to "drag race" doesn't automatically make you Michael Schumacher. People much older than you and with much more driving experiance still manage to spin these pretty often.

Schumacher drag raced ?

Seriously if drag racing is what you enjoy 86-new Mustang V8's are the way to go

Tons of go fast parts;easily to find someone to help you mod it and the stock rear diff can take 350hp easily

......and you can still find convertible examples for under 6K if you like to "drop the top"

And this is the typical teenage overconfidence that winds up contributing to accidents. "Wasn't my fault that it was wet/sandy/oily/etc. in a turn. I've driven that corner at 50mph and never wrecked before!"

Not saying that I didn't act the same way when I was that age, and not saying that all teenagers act like that. But you've already demonstrated with your lack of fear/respect for real-world RWD driving that you're going to be high risk.

I had a sportbike when I was 16. It was a bad idea.

Get something with traction control and all-season tires. Autocross to see if your inner racer matches up with your real-world skill.

You may be a really skilled driver. But probably not. And the way to find out is legal competition (that involves more than driving in a straight line).

I hate to state the obvious, but the drag strip is nothing like driving on the streets.

As others have said, an sports car might not be the best choice for you at this point in your life. to the suggestion of autocrossing (or track days).

I think an S2000 is too much car for a 16 year old. You will eventually do something extremely stupid. My second car at age 17 was a Honda Prelude, and I think even that was probably too much car for me at that age, but I nearly escaped death. We were all young once...
