I think you should not get an S2K till you are older and can afford payments or insurance on your own.

00/01 are pretty cheap. Most 16 year olds get a plan where parents pay for insurance kid buys the car or the opposite.

I think you should get a car you are less likely to kill someone in. Not trying to be mean, but I was 16 once...

16 year-olds should only drive economy cars and not sports cars or muscle cars. They lack the mental maturity to drive safely once they're in a sporty car.

Not gonna lie, I'm really bitter towards kids who got to drive such nice cars early on, because you could really only do it by 1) inheriting some money or 2) you worked to the point it affected your grades (oh don't even tell me you could go to school from 8-3, do extracurriculars, work a 5 hours shift five days a week, maintain a social life, and handle a college prep workload) or 3) you got lucky by getting some crazy paying job (job through fam or indirect fam doesn't count, cuz that'd just be #1).
So with all that said, get whatever you can "afford." I don't care how responsible you are, getting a car that's 5K plus while you're in high school require assistance.
With the cars on your list, the rx8 is a horrible idea cuz of the gas alone, otherwise great car. The mustang mpg is also kinda low, but a lot of guys back in high school drove those cars, but gas was also under 1.50/gall too.
So I'd go s2k.

I say get a civic first and learn how to drive (Both safely around the streets, and possibly take it to auto-x to learn your limitations of your ability). THEN buy an s2000. Trust me, we've all been there and done that. You are some what bound to get into an accident, and I would put down money the chances of it being fatal will increase tenfold if you were to buy an s2000 now. I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T get one, I in fact encourage it, but not at this time of your life. I would even tell you to get a 240sx over an s2000 for now. You will thank us in the end when you don't have to put up a "I crashed my s2k" thread or even worse, lose your life. I'm not trying to say you WILL get into an accident, but shit can happen, and when it does you'll regret it. Just my 2 cents.

Get a cheaper car for a couple years drive that around then trade it in or sell it and buy an S2K. I'm wondering how a 16yr old can afford this and if you parents are buying it there mental. Kids just want to be crazy and that will transfer over to your driving.

Get a mustang GT. You'll fit right in with the other mustang owners.
