Ferrari influenced the NSX design, which in turn (along with the FD) influenced the C5 vette design. No question. Chicken and the egg.

I never heard the bit about he rx-7 leading to the c5 corvette. Do you have any sources on that?

Regarding the nsx and the c5 corvette, the chief designer on both was Ken Okuyama, who later went to pininfarina. Stylistically they aren't that much similar - the NSX explifies 80's supercar styling and the c5 corvette leans to he round, jellybean/ovoid" styling of the 90's.

Do you regularly observe cars with coilovers going over certain curbs to see if they lift a wheel?
haha actually I do..cuz I hang out at a local starbucks with a HUGE curb. A lot of local car guys go there (240sx, 350z, evos, stis) too, along with other sports cars (porsches, vettes, vipers, you name it, they go there..)

hahaha. I too have noticed that about the SRT4, and no, I wasn't sitting on a street corner with a pen and paper. lol.

However, that observation does not necessarily denote a stiff chassis. If your suspension has only a few inches of droop (rebound) travel, you can create the same effect and it doesn't necessarily denote that you have a stiff chassis.

There are few rally cars that you can get to "lift a wheel" in the manner described, but should we interpret that to mean that they have flimsy chassis? No freaking way. They just have a ton of droop travel.
Ah, youre totally right. I guess I hadnt thought of the coilover droop.
