My S2K replacement
Always wanted to post a moving on thread but quite honestly its difficult to move on from the s2k. To me, to really upgrade from the s2k it needs to exceed the following criteria.
- Blast to drive. Top down or up the s2k makes you feel like a car that can outhandle the competition. I've test drove 350z, 370z, evos, stis and even though on paper they will blow the s2k away I still prefer the raw connected feeling the s2k gives.
- Great gearbox. I really enjoy shifting the s2k (although I ran a CC stage 3 with lightened flywheel). Upshifts, down shifts, rev matches is really a treat in this car, especially in vtec. Unfortunately in my search I did not find a single car in a manual trim that could do this. There is however, the flappy paddle gearbox.
- Timeless design. After almost 10 years of production the s2k looks GREAT. Seeing them on the street along side new car models the car still looks modern. I think honda's only mistake was to produce so many of them!!! If Honda ended production in 2004 it would've made a great collectors car.
- Powerful engine. Yea yea... +/- 200whp on a s2k. I've been FI on the s2k as well and I can tell you I prefer NA. I know below vtec you just go 'put put' around the city, but as we all know, once vtec kicks in the beast comes alive. The extra power, the sensation of going to red line, the scream of the engine and best of ALL... WHEN YOU SHIFT IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN!!! If anything THIS is what will make me miss the s2k the most.
- Convertible. Unfortunately I cant think of a single car (within affordability... cause we all know the ferrari scuderia spider is a sexy looking hot italian that I just wanna aasldfkasl;dkjf) that looks good as a vert. Lexus ISc?!?!? WTF!!! I cant believe they made that car and it SELLS!!! I've honestly seen that car around OC more than the one I picked up!!! Anyways, back to the point, the s2k will probably be the only car that ever looked good top up or down.
So, there it is. My only hope is I dont REGRET selling the s2k. So far I haven't gone insane yet and its been almost 2 weeks.

new toy... sorry for CRAPTASTIC pics... I really haven't found time to take good pics as I'd rather be driving

Congrats! So what are your first impressions? FWIW, I still miss my S2000 and it's been years since I sold it. I'm itching for a CR as I type this! You're going to love the GT-R...so easy to drive so fast!
