Ha well not really. It's a 1911 TT -- the bike that won the Isle of man in 1912.

Posted it in off-topic a while back, not many bike freaks in that section I guess.

It's pretty close to running again, with any luck I will put a few miles on it every month.

I never really cared for the real old motorcycle - I guess that I am not sure if I should be afraid of them because they probably have very primitive brakes and cornering dynamics or if I should care because they are mostly just simple bikes with a small engine bolted on it. Somehow I really care only for 50's or later motorcycles.

Anyway, it's a cool looking scoot. Hope you enjoy it.

Ron.

Awesome bike Steve! Where did you ever find a 1911 TT?? I think it's so cool that you have so much history there. I used to own a TT...but it was the 2001! I have now moved onto the 04 Daytona 600. Big Triumph fan here! Congrats on the bike!

Thanks. The bike was discovered in a barn back in England by my father in the 60's. The bill of sale says 200 quid. Not bad. I recieved the bike as a gift for having my first child -- although the title was signed over to me when I was less than one year old -- and my own father spelled my name incorrectly. WTF.

I plan on keeping it and all of the other toys we have acquired in a shed somewhere and passing them along. With a bit of luck the bike will still run when it is another 100 years old.

I'm a real fan of old stuff -- they really built things to last back then.

Very True.

Nice bike! It should run 100 years from now if its taken care of, if it made it almost 100 years by now, why not 100 more.

delorean6969,
I love my new D6! I think it's about 20x's better than the TT and I loved my TT. It's lighter, handles better (I know hard to imagine) and faster. They still seem to have that same dead spot around 4k but I try to keep the RPM's up most of the time. I would highly recommend at least taking a demo ride on the D6, but be careful cause you just might want to buy one after that.

ps: sorry for the delayed response, I've been on vacation.
Yes, I love my TT, I get so many complements on it and its pretty much stock except for the signals, exhaust, and windscreen. I have the yellow and black edition that only came out one year (2000). I love everything except for the dead spot, and the recent oil leaks I've been getting. I was thinking about trading it in on a new D6, but my TT is paid off, so I may just keep it. Because, I use to also have an Audi TT that matched, and after I sold it, I regretted it. Even though I love MY01, I still miss the audi. I'll try to post some pictures of it soon. Keep me updated on the D6
