My new dd/parts hauler
Well i have made a couple topics about geting a truck. Well for the time being i just bought a 92 toyota previa from a frined for $450 cash. Now it's not in great looking shape will take pics soon. Its a 4cyl van that has a ton of room in it and get around 24-28mpg. And is faster than i thougth when i drove it today. It has 187,000 miles on her. I did my research on edmunds and toyota forums. Seems these vans can go to 400k miles with no problems. So i pulled the triger figured hey if it only lasts me a year before some thing goes like say a water pump well i got my moneys worth. Just wanted to see if any body else has any experance with these or with a old used car as a DD and keeps the S on the side

Yeah my parents have a 91 Previa. Currently has over 250k miles on it. We got it just slightly under 100k so it is used.I drove at least 30k of it. Very solid and reliable car. There hasn't been anything I wasn't able to fit in the van. Always been able to fit all my stuff while moving around in college. The car is nearly 20 years old but it doesn't feel like it.
You may already know, the rear suspensions go out fairly quick. Good thing is it doesn't go through tires as fast as newer Toyota. Other than that, just keep up on the oil changes. The only issue I have with it is the height and relatively low weight makes it a scary ride on a windy highway.

No i did not know that is it pricey to fix. I hear brakes and oil changes are the only things u have to do often on the van. I was looking at some parts just to see how much things cost seems pricey on some things. Like whind shield wiper arms $60 a peace seems alot to me. But im still happy with the buy

I daily drive an old beater mini-van (93 transport, that's right, ant-eater style). Welcome to the good life. But seriously, you drive that van around for a couple days then get in the S and it's a pretty sweet feeling. Enjoy your van, which by the way for 450 bucks, that's an awesome deal!
