For some reason I get the feeling it has to do with not having a manual clutch pedal which is so dumb it should be illegal to even sell a supercar without a physical clutch pedal and manual gearbox IMO!!!

I recall you mentioning that guy, he certainly knows his way around nice cars. What roads did you get to drive it on? Would love to run that awd monster around lime creek.
Our families and dinner were waiting back @ his house, so we unfortunately didn't have time to hit Lime Creek. Maybe another time, if he keeps it long enough.
For those complaining about the Kenwood, (a) he only got it home on Wed., and (b) would you let that stop you if you had $70K to spend on such an exotic car? It does have the flip out screen w/ nav and b/u camera.
I was thinking about it vs. driving VTach's old GT-R. Both cars prob. have similar performance. The GT-R had no real quirks, plenty of room, a real trunk, etc., a lot of nice bonuses to go w/ supercar performance....but the Gallardo, complete w/ it's quirks, was a much more exciting drive. If you had the chance to hook up w/ a supermodel, are you going to let the fact that she smokes and is high maintenance stop you?
(I have to add that I came upon a GT-R w/ aftermarket exhaust a week or so ago, and it sounded MUCH better, almost exotic - that might be the thing that would push me over the edge to lusting over one)

I have a friend who DDs a 2008 Gallardo with the E-gear transmission. His opinion is that E-gear is very rough in self-shifting mode, so he almost always drives in manual shifting mode. Interestingly, the LP560 seems to have a significantly improved E-gear implementation. The LP560 is much more refined than the older cars when shifting on its own.

The 04 Gallardo is going to be the worst of the e-gear shifters. Like waltk88 said, the 560 finally got it dialed in.
At 70k that car is a good buy. The Gallardo's are known to be very well built and compared to a comparable 2004 F car this car will be significantly cheaper to own/maintain.
