Obviously not a tax expert.

Leases can't be written off by individuals for personal use. Writeoffs can be made against taxable business income.

The CR-V seems like a subcompact SUV compared to the Mazda and Ford.

I found the CR-V to have much better rear seat legroom than the CX-7. The Edge is quite a bit larger all around, though.

2003 or '04 Nissan Pathfinder would be a really nice utility vehicle. Rugged and roomy when you need it and (with the LE) a very nice interior. Also a very reliable suv. You should be able to find a nice low mileage example within or under that price range.
