No poing in testing the suspension until it's actually on the right chassis and sheetmetal that it's intended to be on.
The thing is -- you don't go to the Nurburgring to test engines. You go to the 'Ring for one of two reasons: either you want to test the suspension, or you want to show your car to the spy photographers. Anyone's guess which of these is Honda's reason.

Because they're testing the mechanicals - chassis, suspension, engine, whatever - and don't want to give away what the car really looks like. Similar to the black coverings other makers put on their cars.

it's a test mule--simply covering a chassis w/ something they had laying around.

Maybe this is not the new NSX maybe it is the New S2000. They already have a final design of the Next Gen NSX body wise why would they not use that? They are probably using this S2000 because they will be basing the new chasis off of the older one. Ap3 anyone?

somehow I doubt they'd be chasing an AP3 around the ring w/ a 911TT behind it...

The latter, don't they have a quite capable test track at home?

Cuz that design sucks and most everybody hates and it they probably (hopefully?) aren't going to use it.
