Bah - pretty poor ban excuse, as far as I'm concerned, especially since that has happened so many times before and the mods 1) warned people first or 2) just cleaned the thread up a bit. Considering the contribution Mr. E.G. normally makes to the site, I'd say we're worse off now. They could've at least taken out NuncoStr8 with him to balance out the forces of good and evil.... 
Really I agree that Mr EG is a net contributor. Nunco is not a really bad guy. I share almost no common views with him and I have argued with him. While I might think he is wrong, he isn't out right hostile to other forum members. For the most part I think people (me included) become hostile when talking to him because it's so hard to change his views on anything. There are other posters who seem to relish their roll as the south end of the north bound horse. They don't contribute, enjoy being hostile etc. I can't figure out why those forum members are still around.

I can't say it was uncalled for because I don't know whether there were warnings and such, but I agree he was a net plus and that this seems overkill.
