Ok, say one was looking for an SUV type vehicle for no more than $2500. Which is the most reliable? Something that you'd be comfortable driving cross-country without too much worry about breaking dowin in BFE.
**I'm not referring to a civic hatch here! Station wagon...maybe. Minivan...maybe.
I'm also not rushing out to purchase anything; I'm just sorta barely toying with the idea. At earliest I'd purchase ~May-June.

The Jeep Cherokee and its inline 6. I have a 97 with 118,000. NO problems. My uncle has an 87 with 220,000. Has replaced a few suspension items and other necessary changes, but the enigne is tip top. Not the greatest SUV, and there ARE too many out there, but it gets the job done. I've done MANY long trips in it.
