thanks whiteflash, that is exactly what I was referring to.

The EVO will be pulling a even stronger premium on the used market. I dont know why people even favorite the STi over it.
People think S2ks are pricey used. 2003/2004 EVOs arent cheap.

It really hasn't. This new/current generation is probably the biggest refresh it's had since it came to the US, but much of what is touted (suspension and steering), many enthusiasts fix with their own suspension anyway and will continue to do so.
But the old motor and too stiff suspension is what made me decide on getting the wrx for a DD

I had the first EVO VIII our Mitsu dealer had back in early 2003. It was a great car for the time. and they are easily modified. I had mine for 2 years - about 25k miles with no issues other than I killed the clutch at 17k miles (from abuse, not defective)....
10+ years later they have the same exact performance. they definitely needed to step it up.... same with STI's... they both get killed by lots of cars at a road course and drag strip.

The evo was always ahead of the sti and by every comparison made the evo Always won. It will go down in history in a much better spot then the s2000 did. As one of the best performance awd cars ever built.

But this new STI is amazing in terms of handling. Once mods come out it'll be that much better.

We obviously hang out with a different scale of enthusiast when it comes to these cars. The standard Subaru enthusiast is a moron; I can't stand them.

Seriously I feel bad for those guys. In the back of there mind ever time they turn that key it could be the day their absolutely stock engine blows. Must make you crazy owning that.

I am in agreement that without the EVO in play, the future of the WRX is uncertain. Oh well, according to Subaru they are trying to make them more comparable to an entry level BMW or something

Any update on this? Of course I can't find it now, but I saw a letter from some high up dude in Mitsubishi stating that they wont be killing it in America, and to "look forward to new models in the future"

Bummer. Evo X is a pretty sweet car. Easy to gain tons of power with just a tune. Much better all around performer than the sti. Especially once tuned.
