Minivan vs. SUV
I bought a minivan from Pierceman and ironically he won't be caught dead in one
I don't feel its a big deal and it's quite handy and comfortable for my family.
So I'm wondering how many of you guys would drive one vs the NO WAY in HELL ones. This question doesn't have to do with off road functionality, I"m just asking for the uses of on road and the van utility.

Very practical (taller interior can hold more things), better gas mileage, etc. Good for what it is.
that said, my current MDX isn't all too different from an alevated Minivan, but I do feel it offers better driving dynamics than a minivan.

Minivan - been there, done that and would certainly do it again. Only an Odyssey though, I think they're cool and wagons that are as versatile are very hard to come by here.
Did the SUV thing for 11 months, hated it, they're useless for space and the gas mileage on ours was appalling ('07 BMW X3).

If I needed a people hauler then I wouldn't mind having a minivan. But since I need a camping equipment hauler that can get through mud I'll stick with my 4x4 pickup.

minivans don't even get that much better mileage over a decent SUV. i was getting ~20MPG combined city/highway with the V6 Jeep and 25+ MPG if it was all highway.

I (somewhat) understand the popularity of SUVs here in Buffalo. There isn't a lot of choice if you want a minivan with 4/AWD, but many choices for SUVs.
If it came down to the choice between minivan or SUV, I'd pick the minivan IF I had the option of 4WD for the winter driving.

HELL to the NO to mini-vans!!!!
Small to mid-size SUV's work just fine for me and my family. Actually, we don't have an SUV but a Tacoma 4x4 double cab, and it's awesome!
I used to have an old 95' Izusu Rodeo V6, and that thing actually had great gas mileage! Went well over 100k miles too and was still going strong at the time I traded it in!
