My neighbor (before he got the CLK63 BS) had a modded CL55. It is definitely a torque monster. As soon as that supercharger engages, it's full speed ahead. That said, I prefer the overall powerband of the 6.2L E63 motor with the 7-speed auto.

The 55 Kompressor motor is very strong, but the performance is somewhat compromised by the 5-speed transmission. In my E55, third stretches to 126mph. Once into fourth, acceleration falls off a bit due to very tall gearing. I think the 55 can beat the 63 all the way to triple digits, but once into fourth the 55 accelerates less forcefully than the 63. Mating the 55 to the 7-speed would be great, but the 7-speed can't take the torque.
