ms3 vs. X/new STi maybe the ms3 could pull on a roll, i could find out
vs. the older STi it's a no...both of my good friends have these cars and the 06 STi beats the ms3 stock for stock
and my stock evo 9 was quicker than the 06 sti on a roll

as a driver of a regular 3 hatchback(my beater)- I can agree with a lot of above opinions and give a good long term impression of the regular 3
Gas mileage reallly depends on how you drive, boosted or not. I can easily get the regular 3 under 20 if I beat on it. I also got like 34/35 from Texas to Illinois last summer with a fulllly loaded car.
It is AMAZING in the rain with the right tires, like someone above mentioned. I usually fly past most traffic in storms and I've never had any issues (knock on wood) just point and shoot.
Both of the hatchbacks are very useful, more so that the 6 I think.
Some things I think you will notice with the ms3- you better get used to hearing this: " I beat car X from a roll" It gets annoying on the forums, always from a roll in a straight line: yawn. It is a wonderful deal. I absolutely can't knock the price of a used 08. I almost got one, but fell in love with the s2k luckily.
Finally, I've gotten really tired of my 3 over the years. I find the appeal drops off more rapidly than other cars.
Hope that helps give an insight to it

I found my '07 MS3 GT with 13k miles for only $16,700 which was just too good of a deal to pass up.
Currently there's an '09 Sport new being listed for 21k.
