marvel at a lost car
driving home from my 1st job, i notice a car i havnt seen since its demise
an unbelievably mint plymouth prowler!
i havnt seen this car since the late 90's
honestly i wondered what the hell happend to it, and also wondered why no one really drives them.. oh well, kept it clean and got my attention (all stock and low miles i presume)
deep red, almost burghandy like (spelling)

[QUOTE]Prowler first appeared as a concept car at the 1993 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Favorable response prompted the former Chrysler Corporation to unveil a production version of Plymouth Prowler at the 1996 North American International Auto Show. Official production for Plymouth Prowler began in July, 1997 as a 1997 model at Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit. With the discontinuation of the Plymouth brand in January of 2000, Prowler continued as a Chrysler. The last Prowler will be manufactured in February of 2002.
Prowler features a 3.5-liter 24-valve sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection, 60-degree single overhead cam, all-aluminum V-6 engine that produces 253 horsepower at 6400 rpm, and 255 lb.-ft. of torque at 3950 rpm. In addition, Prowler's electronic four-speed rear-wheel drive automatic transaxle features an AutoStick

ha, weird. I've seen two of them in the last few weeks. One in Lahaina, Maui - it had some company name on the door. THe other, in Minneapolis just driving around. I hadn't seen one in years, either.

I had the same reaction when I saw one in Kona this winter. I think the guy owned the bar just down the road from me, it was there damned near every night. One night, while very drunk, as a joke I called my brother and told him to sell my S (it stayed back in AZ for the winter) and I was going to buy a Prowler. He wondered when I decided to play for the other team. I thought it was funny.
Anyway, cool looking car. Disapointing in a lot of ways, but very forward thinking.

The dealer's price gouging killed them.
I saw them at $30,000 above sticker here in Dallas.
At MSRP they were pricey but almost worth it, at anything above they were clearly over priced.

The first versions had a wimpy engine if I remember correctly. A couple years later they gave it a little more power but they were ALL slushboxes. No power, no five speed, no fun.
I used to see them once in a while around here. Have not seen one in a few years come to think of it. Plenty of em for rent in Vegas.
