driving home from my 1st job, i notice a car i havnt seen since its demise

an unbelievably mint plymouth prowler!
i havnt seen this car since the late 90's

honestly i wondered what the hell happend to it, and also wondered why no one really drives them.. oh well, kept it clean and got my attention (all stock and low miles i presume)

ha, weird. I've seen two of them in the last few weeks. One in Lahaina, Maui - it had some company name on the door. THe other, in Minneapolis just driving around. I hadn't seen one in years, either.

I see them plenty often in AZ. The Prowler club here is quite sizable, and they hit a lot of the shows.

I had the same reaction when I saw one in Kona this winter. I think the guy owned the bar just down the road from me, it was there damned near every night. One night, while very drunk, as a joke I called my brother and told him to sell my S (it stayed back in AZ for the winter) and I was going to buy a Prowler. He wondered when I decided to play for the other team. I thought it was funny.

Anyway, cool looking car. Disapointing in a lot of ways, but very forward thinking.

The dealer's price gouging killed them.

I saw them at $30,000 above sticker here in Dallas.

At MSRP they were pricey but almost worth it, at anything above they were clearly over priced.

I've seen a couple lately. A couple burgundy and at least one yellow.

Not my thing, but they are certainly eye-catching and I definitely get a kick our of seeing them.

The first versions had a wimpy engine if I remember correctly. A couple years later they gave it a little more power but they were ALL slushboxes. No power, no five speed, no fun.

I used to see them once in a while around here. Have not seen one in a few years come to think of it. Plenty of em for rent in Vegas.
