I really don't have any sympathy here for someone driving so blatently stupid on the track with a full grid of other drivers just to showboat for the crowd.
as the saying goes, "you play, you pay." Harsh yes, but really... doing 4-wheel drifts in such circumstances is not too smart.

The driver died? I was under the impression from the video that the lady (...or guy with long hair, hard to tell) was the driver.
Impressions on the video:
The driver could've shaved seconds off the lap times....drifting through the esses looks cool, but was slower than could've been achieved without. Also, this drivers track etiquette was horrible

The video and soundtrack is very melodramatic, but I'd find it hard to believe the driver died or was even seriously injured in that accident. Sure the car rolled 3 times, but it didn't hit anything. The driver and passenger compartment remained totally intact and the driver was not ejected. In addition, the ambulance crew didn't seem too excited by the whole affair.
All of which lead me to believe it was the driver that was shown walking away with no injuries.
Did anyone else notice that this was a car owned by a driving school? (ecole de pilotage) As there was no passenger, it was probably being driven by one of the instructors.
