Default Mallett to build 400hp LS2 Pontiac Solstice / Satu

Mallett Cars, Ltd. has announced their next venture: the V8 powered Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky. These 2 seater roadsters will be powered by the LS2 V8 engine that is currently used in the C6 Corvettes.

2006 Mallett Collector's Edition Pontiac Solstice! New updated information on production and prices will become available - June, 2005. To celebrate our newest conversion, we will be producing a special offering of the new 400 Horsepower LS2 Solstice. This is limited to a production of 100 cars annually. Upgrades are to be announced!

Same as the S2K, give or take ~75 pounds IIRC. I'm guessing with an LS2 add another say...100, maybe 200 with total drivetrain differences and any additional bracing/parts needed to make it work. Should still come in right around 3000.

a 400 hp Saturn Sky?! Up to now, I don't think any one Saturn dealership had 400 hp total on their entire lot..

I'm all for more power, less weight, etc., but if thing doesn't come in $10k less than a Corvette convertible, what's the point?

I'm guessing it's going to cost at least as much as a vette convertible seeing what mallet charges for its car conversions.

I'm sure it will have beautiful weight balance too, plus its only a couple hundred pounds less than the vette...seems like a pretty retarded idea to me.

do you think the platform can handle the torque of a V8 2.5x larger than the stock engine? I'd guess this is going to need a GTO-type rear-end, too.
