M3 are nice but their owners are not
Most of the M3 owners around here are either old or mid 40's men/women. I know they are rich and can afford any car they want to, but why chose to drive a high performance car when you can drive a 540 or 740 Most of them can't even drive and are stuck up.

Sometimes its true, if you go to e46fanatics.com or m3forums.com many of them are stuck up rich kids. Locally, most of the other M3 owners I know or have met are in their 20's or 30's and are cool.

one e46 owner in d.c was in his late 20s. he rolled up next to us (opposite traffic) in my friends WRX, and as soon as he got to our window he just yelled...wtf u get fucers and idiots in any car.

Just because it's the "Ultimate driving machine" doesn't mean the owners are the "Ultimate drivers".
Most people I know who own BMWs coudn't drive their way out of a wet paper bag. They just buy them because they like the look and can afford them.

Yeah, M3 is the ultimate rich teenagers car. Some of those BMW sites read like a joke. If you want to find out the latest bling bling terminology and what's hot in the teenager rich kid scene, hit them up. That said, there are a lot of great BMW owners. I really like bimmerforums for the most part. There are some cool guys there. The M3 does attract a certain type of person, but so do all sports cars I guess. Ya know?

I need to look up the source for this one, but I remember seeing that the average age of car buyers in general is over 40. That's pretty old.
But logically speaking, the avg income for someone in LA is only about 30k a year, so the 40 year old bit makes sense since you can't do a lot with 30k a year. Sure you hear/know the 20 year old kid who just picked up a 350Z or G35. But they are the exception, not the rule.
I don't think there is ANY car who's avg buying age is in the 20s. Not even the Scion.
Here's one source that's not too bad. I think USA Today is atleast somewhat reputable
http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2001-0...age-chart-2.htm
Here's another article which sites GM having problems with Cadillac owners either loosing there drivers license or just dying due to age.
