Alot of value for what I got, I wasn’t willing to pay double or more for a used 911.
PS when I go t the M2 forums they’re not bashing the S2000
anyone who likes drivers cars doesn’t bash the S.

I think 66k is incredible value. It just fell flat for me.

now, I did drive a 2020 911 convertible and it was very good. Now it’s twice the cost of the M2. The question becomes, is it twice the car?
911

The 911 will hold its value better. $118k seems high to me for a '20 base cab with no options but pretty much all of them are holding very well. BMW's & AMG's all seem to fall quick & steady on depreciation.

So I also drove a 997 today. 3.8 NA black and tan cab. Honestly, no where near as much fun as the S. Now this had the old school tiptronic auto 5spd. The comparison to the DPK is not a fair comparison. This old 997 would make a decent cruiser but it could NOT replace the S.

Which would you prefer? I know, this crowd is bias

I still like the look of the Porsche

I like my yellow S in the reflection. If I could scoop a 997 at auction I think it could be worth it.

You're going to have a lot of trouble beating the rawness/edginess/fun of the s2k compared to a lot of porsches, bang for your buck. I'd say the last model NA Cayman GTS is pretty awesome (they are expensive though obviously) but the 911's are more cruisers. Personally I find the stock s2k a bit drab and with some mods comes to life much more. I'd assume the same of modded 911's but of course parts are more pricey. Keep in mind with a 911 you're talking about a car that is an easy 300+lbs more weight which makes it a nicer/more comfortable cruiser. I don't find driving the s2k long distances enjoyable but in a 911 it'd be comfy. The double wishbone front suspension definitely makes the front more "lively" compared to many Mcpherson front strut front suspensions. Depending on your personal preference this is a good or bad thing.

My step-mom had a 997 C2S cabrio like that one. Engine was good but the transmission was fairly "typical" - nothing special at all. Still way faster than an S2000 but the S2000 is a lot more fun to drive and way more engaging, overall. The Porsche is a nice cruiser, by comparison, and way more comfortable for daily driving, long trips, etc.
