The new M45 is definitely better, I absolultely love the dash but it's almost double the cost. But if your budget is 25K (and it is) then yeah, I might spring for that one.

I am a E60 5-series fan, so I would definitely vote for a 04-05 530i. But one thing to warn you first, this generation of 5-series is very complex software-wise and electronic-wise, so they go wrong pretty often, and warranty is a must for this car. Purchasing one is not a burden on your pocket, but repairing one might be.

Good call...rather boring...but it is a good choice. For whatever reason, I've always like the LS series from Lexus. Very mature car.
