And the S2000 WILL NOT be leaving. It becomes the dedicated track whore... brakes, gut the interior, wheels/tires, etc....

I've on got 17K miles on my 08 at this point but I do think about "what's next" even though that's likely 5 years away. My most logical choice is a Boxster S. I'm fairly certain that Porsche will still be making them and it's a better car than the S2K in many ways (except the big total cost of ownership). Second choice may be a C7 Vette if Chevy keeps improving the interior but, it's a much bigger car. A definite possibility is the Nissan 370Z "roadster" now that they have improved the looks. Yeah it's porky but but plush and the Nissan VQHR V6 is a beautiful engine plus they've integrated rev matching in their manual transmission. I'm fairly certain it won't be an Exige or Elise. The Lotus product interiors look like they came out of a high school shop class and their boutique design & production means they are second rate when it comes to safety. The little Lotus's belong on a track, not public roads. Of course with the current "green mania" choices may be extremely different / limited five years from now. I've actually considered picking up another new 09 S2K and storing it as a hedge against automotive mediocrity in the future.
