Ha this is an interesting topic cause I have been throwing around the idea in my head or modding mine...my alternatives (in no particular order)
1.) New 370z Nismo
2.) New (but probably used) Audi A5 or S5
3.) Used Porsche Cayenne S
4.) Used Porsche Cayman S
5.) Used GT-R??
As you can see my budget is around $45K (w trade in)...but since my S is paid off I also may just keep it around till it dies.

I will be a while before I'm in a position to do anything, but having finally gotten a taste of what German cars are all about, I think it will be a Porsche of some sort. (911, Cayman S, maybe even Boxster if I find I still want a drop top)

Probably a Porsche Cayman S, but I plan on having the S2K for 3-4 years (just got it this March), so who knows by that time (there will most likely be something better out by then I'm guessing)

I went '08 C6 and haven't looked back. I gave up some of the nimbleness of the S2000 for a big sack of stones when I nail the gas.

I went from my '01 S2K to a '03 Z06. That was a great choice. Then a '06 330i with Sport package, okay but not great. Now back in my '08 S2K. I don't know what is next but I came close to pulling the trigger on a Cayman S and the vette still appeals to me.
The Nissan GT-R is just a bit more $$ than I want to spend, given my current economic circumstance, but is desirable to me. I'd definitely check out the 370Z and I expect a tempting special edition by the time I'm tired of my current S. I also want to check out used M5's before I settle on my next ride. Maybe I am ready for a velvet hammer.
