Default Lotus Elise With An S2k Engine And Transmission

Can you imagine a LOTUS ELISE WITH AN S2K ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION? The 2005 Elise will have the Toyota 4 cylinder 1.9 liter 190hp engine and 6 speed out of their celica gts, its supposed to be the next great super car.
What if they put in a real screamer and our 6 speed? Now that would be some kind of super car!

yup, then strap on a comptech supercharger and sticky, wide tires and then you would be good to go.

Your wish is almost my command. A K20A instead of a F20C, but they are in the same gene pool.

How many times has this already been discussed in every Elise thread here?

The F20C in the American Elise is NOT a new idea. It has already been said that the reason Lotus didn't use the engine is because of their relationship with Toyota, the availability of the Celica motor, and the overall price of it all.

Hell, let's just drop in an LS1/6 and call it a day.

Another reason(s) was that the K20 and the F20c have different bellhousing bolt patterns. They are very close, but not close enough. that's why they have to machine a whole new bellhousing. That's also the reason why they have been using the K20. Another reason is the ease of tuning on the K20.
