Lotus Elise deposit holders and what #?

This is my reasoning for me getting one for a good bit less than MSRP 1 year from release. My Evo cost me $30,062 (MSRP), but right now i could get one for $28k brand new.

Lots more Evo's being produced than Elises, though. It is taking every last bit of willpower to not put a deposit down on an Elise. I know I will eventually cave and buy one -- probibly the Monday after I see one at the track or an autocross. I'm definitely going to keep my eyes out for used ones starting late next summer. There are going to be people that buy it, then sell it because it 'rides rough' or doesn't have enough cupholders! That's my hope anyway...

The funny part will be when people try to sell their barely used ones for $45k-$50k..... just like dicks did with their S2000's for $40k+.
NO CUPHOLDERS!!! WTF!!! I don't want one!!!

The really sad part is that someone with more money than patience will buy it. I've already relabeled my 'mods for the s2k' stash as the 'elise downpayment' fund. It will take a while to build that up enough, though -- just bought a house!

No deposit currently, but I'm going to follow the car's introduction very closely. If it seems realtively trouble free, I'll most likely get one once the prices and hoopla settle down some.

I think the Elise will ultimately be a big disappointment for many folks and we'll see a batch of used ones for sale 3 months after release. I'd love to have one but I'm going to wait it out for a year or two.

they will unload it because the ride is harsh, if they hit a deer they will be instantly killed, 130lb ft of torque never feels fast even in a 2000lb car, it costs $39k, the nearest dealer will potentially be 300
miles away.
the S2000 will seem like a luxury car in comparision to the Elise. The majority of the people just aren't up for that....especially at $39k (plus tax and tags, insurance, etc..). This will be a great car for that 1% of the people who can afford it and are willing to put up with it....
I will still plan to buy one for cheap.

so I'd like to hear why you think people will be unloading this car.
