Looking for a daily driver under $10k
#31
I snagged up my daily 98 GSR with only 60k miles on it for 9k. Great buy and about the best daily driver I can think of for what it is. It isn't a total slug and the hatch offers tons of room

Try the upcoming Honda fit. You can buy it brand new for about 10K? I hope.
If the normal UK-US price conversion holds, the Fit should be within a couple thousand of $10k, if not right at it.
Honda just undercut Scion with the new Si, why not do it again?

PT Cruiser.
We've had a 5-speed manual '01 Limited (fully loaded) for several years now, and it's been a great chamelion of a vehicle that's also been stone reliable.
You can run with many combinations of seating, as the rears fold/tumble/remove super easily and it hauls a LOT of stuff when they're out (there's a reason the EPA was able to classify it as a truck afterall ;-)
We've averaged 26-31 mpg per tankful (real gas log numbers, not from the actually pretty accurate digital display), but the auto isn't going to be able to hit those numbers.........YMMV
