Hey, he said he WANTS to keep it under that price range, not that he HAS TO keep it under.

I mean, if you're looking for a straight commuter to and from work, what's better than a Burgman 650? Plenty of storage, pretty damn quick on the road, can keep up with the rest of the bikes on the commute just fine. Easy on, easy off since it's a scooter, pretty good resale value...

I would ride around in a scooter! I think its practical, plus I'll always have my evil side with my other motorcycles!

I'd totally dig a Burgman as a dedicated commuter, but the economics still don't justify one for me!

I'm sure used ones can justify the price tag, and correct me if i'm wrong, but tires would be cheaper to replace, right? Anywhoo, I would love to scoot around town with a 250 cc moped!

I do like the power-retracting mirrors on the big burger's Exec model. As scooters go that's a great pick (even has ABS brakes) but way over the OP's "cheap commuter bike" concept. I don't like the little 400 burger nearly as much because of much shorter maintenance intervals.

Well then, get a Pacific Coast.

I see a ton of them on the commute as well.
